The following cases were heard at South Durham Magistrates' Court in Darlington yesterday.
PARKING OFFENCES: Five drivers were fined £60 plus £50 costs for parking illegally. The offenders were Thomas Blackie, of East End, Wolsingham; Carole Clark, of Park Avenue, Coxhoe; Pamela Constantine, of Rawdon, Leeds; Joe Fernace, of Chapel Street, Willington, Crook and Damien Iles, of Warwick Square, Darlington. Robert Hyde, of Belle View Terrace, Middleton-St-George, was fined £40 plus £50 costs for the same offence.
WARRANTS ISSUED: Gavin Watts, 26, of Cobden Street, Darlington, who is accused of twice breaching a drug treatment and testing order, failed to attend court. Magistrates agreed to issued a warrant without bail for him. A warrant without bail was also issued for Brian Sewell, 32, of Callendar Court, Beacon Lough East, Gateshead, after he failed to attend. He is accused of speeding, driving without insurance and not in accordance with his licence.
ORDER REVOKED: Thomas Riley, 22, of Middleton Court, Darlington, admitted five counts of breaching a community rehabilitation order and one of failing to surrender to custody. Magistrates revoked his current order and imposed a 12-month one.
CASE ADJOURNED: The case against Lisa Burnside was adjourned until April 10. The 28-year-old, of Lyonette Road, Darlington, is accused of one count of burglary and 13 counts of breaching a community rehabilitation order.
FINE IMPOSED: Justin Liddle, 26, of Nestfield Street, Darlington, admitted breaching a community punishment and rehabilitation order. Magistrates revoked the order and fined him £100.
