A FAMILY furniture firm which feared it may have to pull out of Richmond a year ago has expanded.
Peter J and R Olivier relocated from the town centre to the Gallowfield Trading Estate last year. At the time, the smaller site meant the firm had to end second-hand sales. However, with the acquisition of space in an adjacent unit, the sales will be re-launched.
BRANCH CELEBRATES: The Ryedale branch of the Royal Air Forces Association is to mark its 60th anniversary with celebrations in Pickering on June 18. There will also be a concert by the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment, at the Spa Grand Hall, Scarborough, next Friday.
EXHIBITION DATE: The annual exhibition of work by local artists in Richmond's Town Hall will take place from May 3 to May 5. The exhibition will include as many as 150 paintings, many of which will be for sale. Tickets are £5, available on (01748) 825668.
SHAKESPEARE TALE: Shakespeare's Othello will be performed by The Haymarket Theatre, at Harrogate Theatre, from Tuesday until Saturday, March 22. Tickets cost from £5.50, available on (01423) 502116.
NEW CLERK: Elaine Coulson has been appointed clerk of Thirsk Town Council. Mrs Coulson has been parish clerk at Sandhutton for 16 years and at Carlton Miniott for 12 years. She replaces retiring clerk Marigold Wilkinson.
BARN DANCE: The Mayflower Band will perform at a barn dance in Northallerton Town Hall on Saturday, March 22, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4.50, available on (01609) 775381.
GIG OFF: Teaze have called off next Friday's gig at the RAFA club, Northallerton.
