COMEDIAN Roy "Chubby" Brown, who recently beat throat cancer, is appearing in the region next week.
The Empire Theatre, in Sunderland, will host the controversial entertainer plus support next Wednesday and Thursday.
Best known for his crude humour, he writes all his own material, spending up to six hours a day trying out jokes.
Mr Brown started life as half of music duo Alcock and Brown, and as a solo comedian has performed to more than 250,000 people a year. He has released two albums, produced a top three single, and sold more than £40m worth of videos in the UK.
