A roadshow will be touring Stockton schools next week in an attempt to encourage year nine pupils to take up a place at university.
The Aimhigher Roadshow will be at Our Lady and St Bede RC School on Monday, Grangefield School on Tuesday, Northfield School on Wednesday, Blakeston School on Thursday and Bishopsgarth School on Friday.
Recent graduate Emma Horsman will be at the roadshow in a bid to inspire pupils to aim higher by using the latest interactive technology.
The pupils will also get the chance to use laptop computers to research the different options and routes available. Ms Horsman said: "We know the roadshow can make a difference to the way that pupils view university or college.
"Last year we found 50 per cent of pupils were considering university before they came on to the trailer, but when they left, that figure rose to 71 per cent. This year we will be reaching even more pupils and encouraging them to aim higher."
The roadshow, sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest, is part of a Department for Education and Skills campaign.
