A COUPLE who made perfect partners on and off the dance floor for more than half a century have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Margaret and Michael Tennick met at The Rink dance hall in Spennymoor and married two years later.
During their married life they have lived mostly in Mr Tennick's home town, Bishop Auckland.
They have four children: Michael, Melvyn, Michelle and Melanie. They also have nine grandchildren. While the children were growing up Mrs Tennick worked in Bishop Auckland shops.
Mr Tennick spent 31 years as an engineer at Eaton's, in Newton Aycliffe.
They never lost their love of dancing, especially at The Rink, and at clubs in Eldon Lane and New Shildon, but Mr Tennick has had to give up the hobby because of illness.
All the family joined the anniversary celebrations at the couple's home in Bishop Auckland.
