AN open evening with a difference takes place next week at Stockton Sixth Form College.
A travel stand will be just one of the attractions on Thursday, run by a group of Travel and Tourism Vocational A-Level students who have been organising day trips for fellow students.
The second year students recently launched their travel exhibition complete with posters, leaflets and broch-ures and as a result they got three "all in a day visits" off the ground to Belfast, Liverpool and Alton Towers.
The breaks, which will be taken in the holidays, cost anything from £5 to £40.
Steve Rickerby, head of geography, travel and tourism at the college, said: "These students are fantastic tour operators. They have done everything on their own, including organising the travel exhibition, and they have done a great job."
Mr Rickerby has even been roped in to drive the mini-bus on the day trips.
The open evening will give prospective students and their parents an opportunity to see a wide range of work undertaken at the college including information technology, physics, science, maths and art.
The evening starts at 6.30pm and will finish at 8.30pm. For details, contact the college on (01642) 612611.
