CHILDREN in the Thirsk area will have the chance to meet the cast of BBC's Byker Grove today.
It is part of a BBC venture called Voices, which aims to give airtime to people.
Youngsters who live and go to school in Thirsk will be asked for their views, tell stories and say how they would improve the area.
The event will be held at The Youth Clock Caf building, which is to become a youth centre.
Children will be asked to suggest ideas for the centre when they join the Byker Grove cast for a tour of the building.
Some of the ideas will become reality when Byker Grove and BBC North Yorkshire join the youngsters for a makeover in May.
Children can visit the building, in the Market Place, today, between 11am and 3pm. The Byker Grove cast and the BBC North Yorkshire team will be there from noon to 2pm.
