POLICE have confirm-ed that a body pulled from the River Nidd, in North Yorkshire, was that of a 69-year-old woman who had earlier been reported missing by her family.
Shirley Dabell, who lived on Harrogate's Jennyfield estate, went out at about 10.30am on Wednesday but did not return home.
Concerned for her safety, police issued an appeal, urging her to contact them and released a description in the hope the public would be able to help trace Mrs Dabell.
Her body was recovered from the river at Knaresborough, nearly five miles away from where she lived, on Thursday.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
