A GROUP of girls is celebrating after winning through to the northern finals of a hockey competition.
The youngsters, from Red House School, in Norton, played in all the rounds of the tournament for under-11 girls mini hockey at Maiden Castle in the North-East and Cumbria finals day.
The school achieved second place on goal average, after their final game with Kirkby Stephen.
The girls have now reached the northern finals, which will take place in Manchester at Belle Vue on March 30.
It is the first time the team has reached the finals of the competition.
