ASPIRING musicians from North Yorkshire were able to show off their skills in front of an audience at York's Barbican at the weekend.
The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra comprises about 130 of some of the finest players drawn from all areas north of the border, performing under the baton of conductor John Mason.
But on Saturday, it was children from the York area who took centre stage when they were invited to perform with the SFO.
The objective was for members of both the Poppleton Fiddlers and York Fiddlers to demonstrate how Scottish music can be played and enjoyed from a young age, while they enjoyed the thrill of playing with a large orchestra in public.
Funds raised at the concert were donated to the York branch of the Macmillan Cancer Relief Fund.
