The Stanley Ladies Open Triples event, played over two days, brought a home success when Mary Kirk, Rhona Newton and Pam Murphy finished top of the table in the event, played to a Round Robin basis.
Both Stanley and the Hartlepool trio of Margaret Johnson, Madge Taylor and Pat Tweddle, finished the first day with three straight wins, and each lost once on the second day, but Stanley, with a shots difference of 41 plus, pipped Hartlepool, plus seven shots.
