SINGERS from across the North are joining forces to raise much-needed cash for a church's organ repair fund.
Eighty performers, including a group from Durham University, have signed up to sing two works by Faure, at St Cuthbert's Church, Darlington, on Saturday. St Cuthbert's Foster and Andrews organ, which dates from 1880, will need a six-figure sum of money to carry out essential repairs.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, will be on sale at the door, costing £5, or £3 for students.
Singers are still welcome to join in, especially tenors and basses. Each singer contributes £5 to the fund. To take part, telephone Kathleen Bryant on (01325) 467602 or Gill Tiffin on (01325) 487274.
