Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League: Lumley strengthened their position at the top of the table when they reached double figures defeating Sacriston whilst nearest rivals Jarrow St Bedes went down at Herrington.
Despite conceding the lead in the early stages there was no stopping Lumley who romped to a 6-1 interval advantage before finishing 13-1 ahead of Sacriston, who are now joint bottom of the table.
Craig McManus rifled four goals and both Simon Dolman and John Lidster recorded hat tricks. Other goals were scored by Wayne Booth, David Middlemas and Stephen Dobbing.
Jarrow St Bedes visited Herrington and lost for just the second time when the hosts finished 6-1 winners. Craig Ellison bagged a brace of first half goals and although William Gage replied for Jarrow in the second period, Herrington finished strongly.
Ellison took his tally to four and both Michael Fletcher and Mark Briggs penetrated the St Bedes defence.
Lumley are now 12 points ahead of Jarrow who have three games in hand while Herrington cannot be discounted even though they are 20 points worse off than Lumley. They have played six games fewer than the leaders.
Ryhope are third, 13 points adrift of Lumley having played two games less. Their latest success came at Lampton Street where they won 3-1 thanks to a hat trick by Wayne Carr. David Redman was Lambton Street's only marskman.
Washington Dunlop won for the second time when they saw off the challenge from Hebburn by a three-goal margin. They were assisted by two own goals and John Ingram was Dunlop's other marksman.

Riverside
Riverside Under-11s travelled to East Boldon where they gained another three valuable points moving them into fifth place in the league. Both teams struggled to master the blustery conditions and the only goal of the game came from Arran Wearmouth who ran half the length of the pitch before giving the keeper no chance.
The Under-13s were away to Newbottle in a Premier League fixture. Riverside were forced to defend for the opening period of the first half facing a lively Newbottle attack backed by a strong wind. As the game progressed, however, Riverside, began to press forward. David Martin, who had made a number of strong runs down the right, beat the full back again and this time his cross was met by Mark Peck who drove the ball passed the keeper.
In the second half Riverside scored again almost immediately from the kick when Lee Parkin's shot, from almost the halfway line, could only be pushed up by the keeper and Anil Dialani was on the spot to head home. Riverside went further ahead when Mark Peck ran onto an excellent through ball from Carl Smith to give the keeper no chance. In the closing minutes Riverside put the result beyond doubt when Chris Ryder scored with a left foot drive. Final score was Riverside 4, Newbottle 0.
