Billingham Amateur Swimming Club's youngsters, 12 years and under, participated in the Durham and District Junior League Gala at the weekend, which was held at Tynemouth Pool.
It was the first of three rounds and for many swimmers it was their first competitive gala, always a daunting prospect, all performing brilliantly, some even swimming an age group above them.
Glen Martin, first in the back and fly while Craig Grounds, first in the fly, in their respective age groups. Many of the other competitors achieving second and third places. Everyone enjoyed themselves swimmers and parents alike. Competing were:
