West Auckland pulled off a good pool victory against the visiting Cockton Hill but the lone point scored by the visitors was enough to assure them of the title.
Chris Kitch, Jimmy Singlewood and John Richardson won for West, but Peter race scored the title winning point for the Hill.
Tindale Crescent travelled to Horndale and put themselves favourites to land the dominoes title when they only dropped one point to go four clear of Eldon lane with just one match remaining. Davy Hodgson took the lone point for Horndale, whilst Wilson Dinsley, Harry Hopps and Stuart Whittaker junior scored for Tindale.
Tindale Crescent scored a handsome darts win over Horndale. Barry Shippen hit two 180's for Horndale and Kevin Spensley replied with one for the visitors. West Auckland edged through to an odd point darts win over the visiting Cockton Hill but the Hill did win the pairs to keep them joint top with Tindale Crescent with just one match to play. Eldon Lane have shown much improved darts form and won by the odd point at Evenwood thanks to wins from Kevin Weldon and Stephen Weldon to add to the team game.
The final games of the season are scheduled for 20 March with any play-offs taking place at West Auckland the following week.

Willington Ladies League
Willington Club B took the darts championship on their visit to Willington Burn but were just pipped for the doubles when Hunwick Joiners Arms edged one point ahead for the dominoes title when they whitewashed their hosts at Willington Club A.
Willington Lion and Unicorn took the runners-up spot in the darts section, finishing up sixteen points behind the Willington Club B but six points ahead of Sunnybrow Brown Trout.

Crook Cup
The First Division Final went all the way to the decider before Crook Belle Vue beat Crook Olde Horse Shoe in exactkly the same fashion as they did last season. The Shoe edged the snooker games by the odd point when they had singles wins from Stephen Liddle, David Stephenson, Gerald Parkin and Gavin Witton whilst the Club had singles wins from Brian Wright and Pip Samson with the same pair adding the doubles.
Crook Belle Vue drew level overall when they edged through the dominoes by the odd point. The Shoe had singles wins from Jim Luke and Dave Leighton to add to the doubles from Chris Raine and David Stephenson but the Club equalised overall with singles dominoes points from John Warriner, Dave Hakin, Pip Samson and Ivor Phillipson.
With scores tied the captain's tossed a coin to choose the deciding game. The Belle Vue team won the toss and named dominoes where their player, John Warriner beat Gerald Parkin for the loss of only one leg in the best of nine.
CIU League
The Annual General Meeting will be held at Ferryhill Club on Tuesday, March 18 at 8pm. All teams from last year are invited to return and any other new teams from CIU affiliated premises are welcome to apply. However all teams intending to compete must be represented at the meeting.
Belmont and Newhouse, who played in the No. 9 Division League, which is now defunct, have expressed an interest and, because there is no longer a league in their division, they will be entitled to join. Any team requiring further information about this league, which plays darts, dominoes and pool, should telephone 01740 655591 and talk to the secretary, Steve Wray.
