Thirsk Falcons
When Thirsk Falcons Under-10s and Richmond Under-10s met the game got off to a slow, scrappy start with Falcons struggling to put together their normally slick passing game.
But as the game progressed Falcons got the breaks and came out 2-0 winners. Both goals were scored by top scorer Nick Newcombe.
The contest involving the B teams finished with Falcons winning 3-1. On the scoresheet were Simon Taylorson, Mattie Boyne and there was also an own goal.
Brompton
Bedale Under-9s took an early lead through a Brompton A own goal and they added to this shortly afterwards. Brompton pushed forward missing several chances before Mark Watkinson scored to make it 2-. In the second half Watkinson scored again to make it 2-2 and it looked as if the game was set for a draw when Bedale scored in the last attack of the game.
A hard-fought game in which Bedale took full advantage of their chances to lead 4-0 at half time against Brompton B. Brompton had not played for five weeks, and this showed in their poor finishing throughout the game. In the second half Brompton put Bedale under pressure with several consecutive corners in an effort to get into the game. Bedale scored a late goal which Brompton should have cleared and won 5-0.
Brompton Juniors Under-14s travelled to Whinney Banks in the TJAFL Division Four on a very windy day. Playing against the wind, Brompton created and missed several chances, 30 minutes into the match Whinney Banks capitalised on some hesitant defending to score the opener.
Three minutes later Stefan Pearson broke clear of the defence to pass to John Henry who shot past the keeper. Playing with the wind in the second half Brompton could not put their game together and it turn into a very scrappy match. Pearson scored with a good finish, but once again slack marking allowed Whinney Banks to score what proved to be the last of the match.
Hungry Jacks
Hungry Jacks of Northallerton travelled to Great Ayton for the semi-final of the cup and came out 5-1 winners with a hat-trick from Daniel Wright and two from captain and man of the match Jason Bradley.
In the first half Jacks kicked against a strong wing and went in at half time all square 1-1. The second half was all played in the Ayton half with Jacks creating many chances but only managed four more goals with the strong wind making playing conditions difficult.
