ANOTHER round of building work is about to start at a Darlington golf course.
The clubhouse kitchens at Stressholme Golf Course are being refitted and a new balcony is planned, to overlook the 18th hole.
The improvements are being made by Darlington Borough Council, which owns the course. A £200,000 facelift of the bar and restaurant area in the clubhouse was completed in 2001.
A limited menu of sandwiches will be available while the kitchens are renovated.
The work is expected to be completed on Friday.
The bar is expected to stay open for business as normal.
The club's catering manager, Julia Ellwood, said the refurbishment was needed to cope with increased customer numbers.
"The restaurant has gone from strength-to-strength, and the old equipment simply can't keep up," she said.
Ms Ellwood said that bookings for Mothering Sunday were coming in "thick and fast".
