PLUCKY volunteers took to the water in a sponsored swim that raised £600 for charity.
The event, which was held at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, on Sunday, was organised by Darlington Association on Disability (DAD) to mark the European Year of Disabled People.
The money raised will help the association's network of five play schemes, used by more than 200 children each year.
Project co-ordinator Chris Thwaites thanked the 26 volunteers for their "hugely important" contribution.
