VOLUNTEERS have warned that a community centre will remain dated and under-used unless more people lend their support.
Cockfield Community Association is appealing for volunteers to help provide more activities in the centre, which hosts meetings, dance classes, yoga and computer courses.
The village's development worker, Danielle Barnes, is seeking help from the community to get more activities running.
Over the past few of years the committee has considered having a feasibility study done to identify potential improvements, but without more support it cannot carry out the study.
Chairman James Nicol said: "We really need local people to come forward and offer a little support. Without it the village will always have an out-of- date centre.
"There is money out there to make improvements and plans have been drawn up, but we just need some local people to help with some of the groundwork."
An open meeting is being held at the centre tomorrow, at 6pm, to discuss the feasibility study and an action plan to implement the work.
The community association is also holding its annual meeting on April 16, at 7pm, in the centre.
That meeting will also be open to the public.
Further information about the events at the community centre and activities in the Cockfield area are available by telephoning Danielle Barnes on (01388) 710808.
