YOUNG trials bike rider Jonathan Cousins has had his chances of competing wrecked by thieves.
His off-road bike was stolen from the shed at Jonathan's home in Valley Terrace, Howden-le-Wear, last Thursday.
Now the 21-year-old is offering a reward for the safe return of his bike, which is a blue and silver Beta Trials bike worth about £3,000.
He said: "It is a proper trials bike for competitions and it will stick out like a sore thumb.
"I was hoping to start competing this year, but I can't because it has been pinched.''
Anyone who can offer any information that would lead to the safe return of the bike and the conviction of the people who have stolen it is asked to contact Crook police on (01388) 762011.
