Bedale Dramatic Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary and one 100th production in spring and will mark the occasion by staging a farce.

Rehearsals for Will You Still Love me in The Morning? by Brian Clemens and Dennis Spooner are going well and it will be staged at Bedale High School between Thursday and Saturday, April 10 and 12. ARSON SUSPECTED: Three cars were destroyed in a suspected arson attack on a repair workshop in Blind Lane, Tockwith, near York, early yesterday morning. Police are investigating.

NAVY TALK: Royal Navy officers will deliver a multi-media presentation to explain operations around the globe at Northallerton Town Hall tonight at 6.30pm. The 35-minute presentation is to an invited audience.

BOOK ART: Nunnington Hall near Helmsley opens its doors to the public for a new season on Saturday, with an exhibition of original works by some of the world's great book illustrators.

DIESEL GALA: The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is hosting a diesel gala on April 11, 12 and 13. Engines taking part include the railway's heritage stock and an array of visiting locomotives.

CLASSIC STARS: Leonid Gorkhov and Nikolai Demidenko will perform a cello and piano recital at Helmsley Arts Centre on Saturday as part of their UK spring tour. Tickets for the 7.30pm concert are £12.50.
