A BOGUS caller left empty-handed after he was challenged by pensioners.
The man talked his way into a home in Sherburn Villas, Consett, last Tuesday, claiming to be working on the water supply.
The occupants became suspicious and the man ran off.
He is described as white, about 5ft 8in, aged between 25 and 30, of slim build, with a round face and dark hair.
