A PARISH council has been joined by 28 residents in opposing an amended scheme to build nine homes in a North Yorkshire village.
Skelton-on-Ure Parish Council, near Ripon, said it did not oppose development at the former Rosewood and Philmore Drinks site, but believed the plan was "totally unacceptable".
It said an earlier plan, put forward more than a decade ago, was for a cottage-mews-style development, which would be more appropriate.
The present plan, it said, would be too intensive and involve parking problems exacerbated by a long, narrow approach road.
Objectors said the scale and form of the development would be over-intensive and also said traffic and parking would be a problem.
The site is presently occupied by a bungalow at the front and a warehouse at the rear. Commercial use of the site for a drinks distribution business has now stopped, said planning officer Neville Watson.
The issue will be considered by an area planning committee of the borough council when it meets at Knaresborough on Tuesday.
