NORTHUMBRIA University has launched a course for people in the information and library sectors.
The masters course in information and library management is being provided through distance learning and offers professional recognition for library and information workers.
The course, which has been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, is expected to be popular because it can be fitted around work commitments.
Course leader Biddy Casselden said: "It is aimed at people who are working full-time and would find it almost impossible to attend university.
"This course allows them to work in the industry while working towards a professional qualification to enhance their career still further.''
The course starts in September and anyone wanting more information can contact 0191-227 4739
