A SCOUT group in Stockton will be able to keep warm next winter thanks to a donation.
Myson Radiators has handed over ten convector radiators to the 1st Hartburn Sea Scout Group, as part of an initiative to refurbish its facilities.
The group, which specialises in teaching young people to sail, plans to use the Myson logo on the sails of the Sea Scouts' boats, which often sail at various locations across the North-East.
The group, which is the only Sea Scout group in Cleveland, consists of a Beaver Scout Colony, Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop. The organisation is aimed at youngsters between the ages of six and 18 and specialises in teaching them to sail, as well as providing powerboating, canoeing and kayaking facilities.
David Ellis, Cub Scout leader and project co-ordinator at the group, said: "Our Scout group building is of single brick construction, with the rooms divided by straw-filled walls, so it can get very cold, especially when returning from outdoor activities.
"We would like to thank Myson for their kind donation and for supplying the radiators at such short notice."
