Scarborough Borough Council's parks and countryside services unit has been awarded a contract to look after the grounds of a large number of schools in the town and Ryedale.
The £450,000 contract will also see the gardeners maintaining the grounds of other buildings, including libraries, care homes and fire stations, from April 1.
Councillor Godfrey Allanson, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "This is an excellent feather in the cap for our parks and countryside services unit."
