A mixed vocal and instrumental evening of Music for St Cuthbert, with associated readings relating to the life and ministry of the 7th Century Northumbrian saint, is being held at St Cuthbert's Church, Shadforth, near Durham, tomorrow.
The programme begins at 7pm, with tickets - available at the door - priced £3, to include refreshments.
HOUSE BURGLARY: Police were called to a house at Crawford Avenue, Peterlee, yesterday, to a report of a burglary. The thief had broken a window to gain entry, and stolen an estimated £500 worth of electrical goods.
GREEN MEETING: An open meeting to discuss environmental issues in West Rainton, near Durham, will be held on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm. The meeting, in the Jubilee Hall, will cover issues including recycling and tree planting. To attend, call 0191-584 1206.

HEALING SESSION: The National Federation of Spiritual Healers will hold a healing session on Saturday, from 1.30pm to 4pm, in the Shakespeare Hall, North Road, Durham.
NEW NUMBERS: Durham University's new telephone and fax numbers will be introduced from Saturday. The main switchboard number for the university in Durham and Stockton is 0191-334 2000. For the next two weeks, there will be extra switchboard staff on duty to inform those dialling the old number of the change.
