BUSINESSES can find out about providing better access for disabled people at a free briefing tomorrow.

Darlington College, in Catterick, is holding two sessions as part of a disability awareness day. The briefings, which will tell firms how to comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act which come into force next year, are at 8.30am and 2pm. TRUST MEETS: South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust meets 10.30am on Tuesday, April 1, in the conference room at Northallerton's Friarage Hospital. The meeting is open to the public. The trust provides acute health care services from the James Cook University and General hospitals, in Middlesbrough, and North Riding Infirmary and Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.

PANTO APPEAL: Ripon Charity Panto Group is on the lookout for a producer to help with next year's show. The group's annual meeting will be held at Ripon Motor Sports Club, Blossomgate, next Thursday, at 8pm.

CLOSE SHAVE: The Jerry Green Foundation benefited when regulars at The Black Horse, Ainderby Quernhow, had their heads shaved to raise £110 for the animal sanctuary. Another £1,000 was raised by car boot sales and market stalls.

BOOK FAIR: The Crown Hotel in Harrogate will be hosting a book fair tomorrow and Saturday, when more than 70 dealers from all over the UK will be taking second-hand and antiquarian books.

WEDDING SHOW: The Spring Brides wedding exhibition will take place at Pavilions of Harrogate, on the Great Yorkshire Showground, at the weekend.
