A BIRD feeding station has been set up in a police headquarters to encourage more wildlife into the grounds.
The station has been donated to North Yorkshire Police, which has its headquarters at Newby Wiske, Northallerton, by the RSPB.
The wildlife project came about due to Chief Constable Della Cannings' links with rural and wildlife organisations. A keen bird-watcher and wildlife enthusiast, Ms Cannings met with environmental and conservation organisations to let them know how seriously the force takes issues surrounding wildlife crime.
The RSPB said the donation was a thank-you for the work the force's wildlife liaison officers have done in the past.
