BOSSES at the Bridges shopping centre, in Sunderland, have raised more than £1,000 for charity, and shed a few pounds of their own.
Teams from the Bridges centre management joined with others from Harper's Gym and Promovere, in a sponsored challenge at the Crowtree Leisure Centre.
The riders all pedalled 300 miles on exercise bikes.
They raised £675 in aid of Disability Sport England with Tesco Metro adding a further £500 to the total.
Gordon Neale, chief executive officer of Disability Sport England, said: "We rely on charitable donations to operate. This money will go back into local activities for the region, such as athletics."
Phil Steele, the Bridges' centre manager, said: "We are delighted to be involved with such a dynamic and worthwhile charity, while getting in shape ourselves."
