Yarm CHARITY FAIR: Yarm Charity Fair will take place on Sunday, June 1, in Yarm High Street.
Yarm District Lions Club will organise the event. Invitations and booking forms will be sent out to previous participants. Any group that has not previously participated in this event can obtain the forms by calling Stuart Hewerdine, on (01642) 898241. Previous participants who have not received their forms by March 29 should also inform Mr Hewerdine.
JAZZ NIGHT: Yarm Fellowship hall committee is holding a New Orleans Jazz night featuring Brian Carrick's Heritage Hall Stompers on March 29 at the Fellowship Hall, in West Street, Yarm. Tickets cost £10 which includes a buffet. There will be a licensed bar. The event starts at 7.30pm. COFFEE DANCE: All are invited to a coffee dance on Saturday, March 29, from 10am to noon at the Egglescliffe Community centre, Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe. Admission is 50p including a drink. There is a raffle and additional refreshments available.
WI WELCOME: Women are welcome to join Links WI group, which meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the main hall at All Saints' Church, Swinburne Road, Eaglescliffe, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. For details, call Kath Richardson on (01642) 782711.
PLAY AREA: Ownership of the Glebe, in Kirklevington, will soon be transferred from the church to the parish council, securing children's play facilities in the village. Ideas for future development would be welcomed.
MOTHERS' UNION: Members of Kirklevington Mothers' Union will be entertained with a video about the Solomon Islands, on Tuesday, at 1.45pm, at 10 Martondale Court.
ALTAR CLOTH: St Martin's church in Kirklevington has only one altar cloth. If anyone is willing to make one, please contact Brian Claybrook on (01642) 785063.
PROMISES NEEDED: An auction of promises is planned for May 9 towards starting a fund for a new village hall in Worsall. FOLK DANCE: Worsall village hall is the venue for a barn dance on Saturday, at 8pm with Brian Johnson and Knotted Rope. Admission is £4 at the door and there is a pooled supper. For details, call (01642) 700856.
PROBUS CLUB: Probus is a club for retired professionals and businessmen who value social contact and the chance to meet others. A club has been set up in the Ingleby Barwick area. Meetings are held on the morning of the first Wednesday of each month at the Baptist Church Hall, Thorntree Road, Thornaby with a speaker and refreshments. For details, call (01642) 671443.
GYMNASTIC CLASSES: Get Trained by British gym-nastics qualified coaches. They run a local gym club at Ingleby Barwick community centre with approximately 30 local young people aged five to 14 years benefiting from the training. For details, call (01642) 764757.
