YOUNG badminton stars are celebrating after success in two regional tournaments.
More than 60 youngsters competed in the second round of the Darlington Grand Slam and the Ferryhill Grand Prix.
The competitions were held at Haughton School and Ferryhill Leisure Centre, and entrants travelled from York, Sunderland and Northumberland to take part.
Each tournament had four rounds and the overall winner of each category was the player with the highest score.
Gold and silver medals were awarded to the top players at the end of each round and the overall winners will receive certificates and trophies after the finals in July.
Darlington Grand Slam category leaders:
Girls' singles: Holly Smith (U10), Jessica Scarlett (U12), Laura Parnell (U16).
Boys' singles: James Parnell (U10), James Muscat (U12), Christopher Duncan (Standard U14), Iain Defty (Open U14), Nicholas Carr (U16).
Girls' doubles: Abigail Scarlett/ Jessica Scarlett (U12).
Boys' doubles: James Muscat/ Joseph Cosgrove (U12), Harry Booth/David Fogarty (Standard U14), Scott Iveson/Josh Wilson (Open U14).
Mixed doubles: James Muscat/ Abigail Scarlett (U12).
Ferryhill Grand Prix category leaders:
Girls' singles: Holly Smith (U10), Sophie De Giorgio (U12), Katie Zissler (U14), Laura Parnell (U16).
Boys' singles: James Parnell (U10), James Muscat (U12), Iain Defty (U14).
Girls' doubles: Abigail Scarlett/ Jessica Scarlett (U12), Emma-Line Cosgrove/Stephanie Barwick (U16).
Boys' boubles: James Muscat/ Joseph Cosgrove (U12), Scott Iveson/Iain Defty (U14).
