Youngsters will be the stars of a fundraising event.
Mid-Durham Projects Club has joined forces with Durham Disability Leisure to organise a Stars in Our Eyes show. More than 30 special needs youngsters will take part in the event at Gilesgate Community Association, from 7pm to 9.30pm, on Sunday. All proceeds will go towards Comic Relief. GARDEN CHALLENGE: Workers from Marks and Spencer stores across the region yesterday rolled up their sleeves to help transform a primary school garden. The staff created a flower garden, organic vegetable patch and pond at Cheviot Primary School, Newbiggin Hall, near Newcastle.
STREET SOAP: Durham University students will present an exhibition on the city's Saddler Street in Anglo-Saxon times. The exhibition will run at the city's Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology, from tomorrow to the end of June.
ART SALON: Work from artists Faisal Abdu'Allah, Zuzana Albertsen and Francis Gomila, of scenes from Madrid, London and Newcastle, will go on display in the Globe Gallery, North Shields, on Saturday, March 29.

KITCHEN FIRE: Firefighters were called to a home in Berry Edge Road, Consett, shortly after noon on Wednesday, after a grill pan caught fire.
FOLK NIGHT: John Connolly will appear at Croxdale Folk Club on Tuesday, in the village's Daleside Arms pub at 8.30pm. Admission is £2.
GIG OFF: Texas Flood have cancelled tonight's appearance at The Wheatsheaf, in Benton, Newcastle.
GIVE BLOOD: A blood donor session will takes place in Washington leisure centre today, from 2.30pm to 7pm.
