Students at the University of Teesside are to hold an Easter tea dance for older people in the town.
Students plan to invite 100 older people, who may live alone or in a home on Teesside, to the dance, which is being held in the Students' Union on Saturday, April 5.
Undergraduates already provide tea and bingo for pensioners and 50 students have signed up for the Students' Union's friendship scheme.
Alison Whitton, manager of Coatham Lodge, in Redcar, said the teenagers are rebuilding the elderly's faith in the young.
