A LIMITED number of cut-price fridges and freezers are on offer in a scheme to help improve energy-efficiency in Hartlepool.
Fifty fridges and 100 fridge freezers are available to people living in the borough of Hartlepool in a promotion to help encourage people to replace their old, inefficient appliances with new, energy- efficient ones.
Under the offer, run by power company npower and backed by Hartlepool Borough Council, a new A rated fridge is available for only £35 or a fridge freezer for only £60.
To be eligible to apply to buy one of the appliances, people must be a resident of the borough, have a working fridge or fridge-freezer at home, and be in receipt of an income-related benefit from the Government.
Application forms are available from Hartlepool Civic Centre, in Victoria Road. Applicants must collect a form in person and bring with them proof of their eligibility for benefit.
