Former Sunderland manager Peter Reid has been confirmed as caretaker manager of Leeds United.
Terry Venables left the club this morning after a troubled eight-month reign and Reid will take charge for the remaining eight matches this season.
A statement issued by the club to the stock exchange today stated "Leeds plc announce the appointment of Peter Reid as interim manager of Leeds United for the remaining eight games of the season.
"As announced earlier today, it is intended that a permanent successor to Terry Venables will be appointed at the end of the current season."
