CITIES, towns and villages in the North-East and North Yorkshire have reached the national final of the Britain in Bloom competition.
Newcastle has made it to the final five for the large city category, while Harrogate and Durham will battle it out for best large town.
Other finalists are: Ripon (town), Alnwick (small town), Aycliffe (large village), Darley (large village), Whitburn in Sunderland (urban community), Saltburn (coastal resort) and Filey (coastal resort).
Britain in Bloom judges will visit all 61 finalists across the country in August and the winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on September 30.
