FOUR Darlington teenagers have won an award after taking part in a safe driving course.
Daniel Purdie, Terence Welch, David Barker and Matthew Hall, Year 11 pupils at Eastbourne School, picked up their Shrievalty Award at Durham Castle on Tuesday.
The awards are presented by the Durham Agency Against Crime to groups of young people who have worked together to make their community safer.
To win their award, the boys took part in a motoring course, aimed at teaching teenagers the dangers of driving without proper instruction.
Teacher Louise Stokoe said: "The course really brought home to the boys how dangerous a badly-handled car can be."
