OBSTACLES faced every day by the visually impaired and people with disabilities will be highlighted at an exhibition at Darlington College at Catterick today.
The Disability Action in Richmondshire (Dair) group has already illustrated how much the able-bodied can take for granted by blind-folding the Mayor of Richmond, Councillor Stuart Parsons, and then guiding him around the market place.
He was challenged to withdraw £10 from a cash machine, buy a bus ticket and apples.
Even though it is a town he is familiar with, he described the experience as unnerving and confessed afterwards that he would not have been able to complete any of the tasks without help.
