STOCKTON'S outstanding youngsters have been honoured in an awards ceremony.
Young people who have excelled in a number of fields were given their awards at the Stockton Mayor's Achievement Recognition Trophy (Smart) ceremony on Friday night.
Set up last year to recognise the efforts of young people, the awards featured ten categories, including education, sports, bravery and volunteering.
This year's awards were judged by a panel of pupils from across Stockton.
Hundreds of children entered the competition, which was partly organised by Stockton Borough Council's Youth Service.
All the winners, who are aged 19 or under, were presented with certificates to mark their achievements by TFM presenter Anna B.
Among the winners were Rebecca Kirk, who has supported her father and carried out fundraising despite his incurable disease, and Eleanor Keld, who has gone into senior school a year early due to her outstanding abilities.
Other winners included Katie Brown, who has completed more than 400 hours of voluntary work and still finds time to be a Member of the Youth Parliament for Stockton South and sit on the Connexions youth shadow board and the North-East Regional Youth Assembly.
