MEMORIES of a Darlington school have been featured on a local history trail website.
The National Grid for Learning is running an online local history trail and has been inviting people to visit the website and share their discoveries about their local area with surfers across the world.
Darlington has been represented on the website with memories of Polam Hall School. The history trail is designed to be easy to use, even for first-time Internet users.
Visitors to the site are asked simple questions to get them thinking about local history, before they are guided to a selection of approved websites to find the answers.
They then move to the next stage of the trail, which involves going into their town and researching some history.
Their findings can then be posted in an online gallery for everyone to view.
National Grid for Learning content officer Helen Bader said: "Thousands of people from all over the country have been taking part and it is good to see Darlington represented in the gallery."
