Brotton WMC v Grangetown YCC: Brotton started brightly and put Grangetown under pressure from the start.
After just ten minutes Brotton were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Ryan Scott fired an excellent shot round the Grangetown wall leaving the keeper no chance. The pace of Scott and Solomon were giving Grangetown a lot of problems and in the 20th minutes Scott broke away from the Grangetown defence but as he headed for goal a last ditch challenge from Jones was adjudged to have been in the box, Scott took the resulting penalty and sent the keeper the wrong way to score his second. Again Scott's pace took him past the defence, the shot was well saved but the rebound fell for Solomon to take the score to 3-0. Continued pressure allowed Scott through to complete his hat trick just before half time. In the second half Brotton increased their lead, Solomon netting his second followed by Peggs scoring the best goal of the game with an excellent 30 yard lob. Brotton then sat back on their lead and Grangetown capitalised with two consolation goals from Ward.
Goldsborough U v Redcar Mack. Park: Goldsborough started the game with the wind at their backs but did not use the advantage, the game having very few chances in the first half. The best chance fell to Redcar when a bal, crossed from the right flank was met at the far post, but the headed shot hit the bar. The second half began much as the first, the deadlock was finally broken in the 70th minute when Goldsborough concede a free kick just outside the 18 yard box. Williams curled the ball over the wall into the top corner of the net.. Goldsborough pushed forward in an attempt to equalise but were thwarted when a second free kick was taken by Palmer, the ball clearing the defenders and bouncing past Godsborough keeper, Sanderson making the score 2-0 and securing a well deserved win for Redcar.
Grosmont v Anchor Inn: Anchor dominated the match throughout. Hetherington gave them the lead after 15 minutes followed 5 minutes later by a second from Lacy. Anchor then missed a shot on an open goal from just 1 yard out before Seed made it 0 - 3. a lead they held until the break. The game continued in a similar fashion in the second half although Goldsborough created a few chances which they failed to convert. Seed's second goal took Anchor further ahead when he tapped in a well placed through ball. Hill then got his name on the score sheet with a good headed goal from a left wing cross. In the closing minutes Salt scored Anchor's sixth to complete a convincing win.
Lingdale Utd v Gt Ayton: A bright start by Lingdale saw them almost take the lead when Jody evans fired a snap shot from 20 yards which was well saved by the Ayton keeper. Gt Ayton went on to take the lead after a well taken corner, Gawthorpe tapping the ball in from close range. Ayton's lead was extended when Welford brought down a player in the box, Grainge successfully converting the resulting penalty. With 5 minutes of the first half remaining, after a great pass from Grainge, Lane netted the 3rd. Lingdale had most of the play in the second half with Hololob leading the fotward line but very much against the run of play Ayton added their fourth when Davey scored his first goal of the season.
Staithes Ath v Boosbeck Utd : A fast flowing game saw both sides produce some good football. Boosbeck were quickly on the attack forcing Scollett to clear the danger early in the match. Staithes then threatened the Boosbeck goal with a fine shot, well saved by Myers. Russel then won a great header in the mid field area, releasing Winter who in turn forced a Staithes defender to back pass, the keeper was slow to react and Winter pounced on the loose ball to place it into the net. Boosbeck were then under pressure for long spells as Staithes pressed for the equaliser but the Boosbeck defence were outstanding. Crawford in Boosbeck's midfield played particularly well, playing the easy ball whenever he could and the visitors held on to their slender lead to the break. The Boosbeck defence faced more pressure in the second half and after 15 minutes Staithes were back on level terms after a well taken goal by Smith. Staithe's introduction of Ward and Reed proved very successful as the home side began to dominate the midfield. A poor clearance by the Boosbeck defence saw Bowes score from the edge of the box to give Staithes the lead. Boosbeck tried their hardest to get back into the game but with 15 minutes remaining Smith took Staithes further ahead when he pounced on a bad kick out, ran at the defence and placed a shot past the keeper. In the dying minutes of the game Thompson came close for Boosbeck with a shot that clipped the bar. Staithes taking the 3 points to consolidate their top of the table position
