Sporting Club Sunderland, hosting Birtley Town Reserves, shared the spoils in a 4-4 draw.
The first goal came after 10 minutes, Lee Butler driving the ball in from 20 yards. Barry Cook's volley also from 20 yards out made it 2-0 and Cook made it three. Lee Cuthbertson pulled a goal back for Birtley on 60 minutes. A goal by Gareth Greener from the spot seemed to have sealed it for Sporting Club at 4-1 in the 65th minute. In a late rally Mark Pelley (70), Dean Wilson (88) and Lee Cuthbertson with his second, in the 89th minute, gave Birtley a share of the points.
Spennymoor Black & Decker came out on top 2-1 against Seaham The Duke. They were behind after 23 minutes when John Mitchell tapped the ball in after a mix-up in the box. The Duke looked like taking the points until a 15yard screamer by Paul Arnott put B&D level. This spurred on the Decker who pressed all the way and were rewarded after 88 minutes, Lee Bell heading in at the back post from a corner.
A Goal from Michael Conner and a brace from David Scott gave Belford House a 3-0 win against Simonside SC.
Seaham Mallard hammered Ebchester FC 8-0, Barry Cougle hit four goals, James Taylor (2), Stephen Newby and Tommy Fletcher added to the tally.
Hartlepool Town were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Durham Victoria Bridge. Kane Hobson put Durham ahead after ten minutes. A penalty by Chris Birkbeck after 55 minutes had Hartlepool level. Durham were in front again after 82 minutes when Paul Atwell, in goal for Hartlepool, fumbled allowing Kenny Mervin a simple tap-in. Another penalty by Birkbeck after 88 minutes earned Hartlepool the draw.
