The first ever combined indoor finals day of Cleveland County men and ladies on March 16 produced some fine matches. In the men's pairs T Addison and I Daniel scored a last end 16-15 win over R Emerson and J Rudge.
K Skipp bowled well to win the men's singles 21-10 over T Addison and J & I Gillespie won a well-fought match against S Slaughter and M Perry 18-13 in mixed pairs.
In the mixed rinks B & E Shand with S Milner fought off a late challenge from A & P Nichol and D Clarke to win 23-14 and in men's rinks T Addison J Gillespie and T York triumphed 16-12 over A Robins I Daniel and R Micheson in a hotly-contested final.
The ladies singles were taken by J Carson who beat V Micheson in the latter stages to win 21-13. Ladies pair, C Dick and G Willis, came back from 5-16 down to win 20-18 against J Carson and M Johnstone and I Gillespie, W Dickinson and V Micheson overcame V Henderson, M Cronin and B Richards 27-8 to take the ladies rinks title.
