SUNDERLAND youngsters will take part in a variety show in aid of Comic Relief tonight.
Forty teenagers from Thorney Close, Plains Farm and Farringdon will take part in the production at the Sandhill Centre.
The two-hour show is the idea of two former pupils of Sandhill View School, Kelly Duggan and Claire Tipling, both 16, who are now students at Sunderland College's Shiney Row campus and are keen dancers. The show starts at 7pm. Admission costs £1.50 and proceeds will go to the charity.
GERMAN TRIP: Residents of Easington district are being offered the chance to visit their German twin town of Baesweiller. The trip leaves on June 12 and returns on June 21. Travel will be by coach and ferry. Anyone interested in booking a place can contact Mel Kipling on 0191-527 0501, extension 2428.
DIAMOND TOUR: Singer, composer and pianist Judith Durham, who was lead singer with the 1960s' group The Seekers, will appear at the Empire Theatre, Sunderland, as part of The Diamond Tour 2003. The concert takes place on Sunday, June 22 and tickets are available from the box office on 0191-514 2517.
CRAFT SESSION: Brandon Library will hold a craft session for children of all ages, on Saturday. Baruch Rosengarten will show how to make items from felt and bubble wrap. There are only 15 places. Tickets are free and available from the library.
ANTIQUES DAY: An Antiques Roadshow-style event with valuer Maurice Reed takes place in the village hall, Delves Lane, near Consett, on Wednesday, April 23, from 6pm. Tickets are £3, including a pie and peas supper, and are available on (01207) 583174.
TRANSPORT MEETING: The Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority, the body responsible for the Metro, will hold a public meeting in Newcastle Civic Centre on Thursday, at 10.30am. Items on the agenda include a review of passenger safety and Metro timetable changes.
ADVICE SESSIONS: Durham Citizens Advice Bureau is holding outreach advice sessions today at Bowburn Community Centre, between 10am and noon, and at Esh Winning Community Centre from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. No appointment is needed.
DONOR SESSIONS: Blood donor sessions will be held today from 3pm to 7pm in the Methodist Church Hall, Bede Way, Peterlee, and in the community centre in Wensleydale Avenue, Penshaw, near Sunderland.
HEALTH MEETING: North Durham Community Health Council, the area's health watchdog, will meet on Friday in the conference and club room at the Abbey Sports Centre, Pity Me, at 10am. The meeting is open to the public.
