POLICE are hoping the public may be able to help trace the relatives of a North Yorkshire man who died recently.
There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Ronnie Calvert, of Spennithorne, Wensleydale, but officers have been unable to trace any members of his family. Mr Calvert used to live in nearby Snape and was believed to be related to someone who was either a member of the clergy or who had connections with the Church. Anyone with information about Mr Calvert's background is asked to call PC John Hutchinson on (01609) 789458.
NEW MEDIA: The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has welcomed two new members of staff. Sarah Nicholson takes over responsibility for the organisation's printed publications and online services, while Kate Geddes will lead a number of new initiatives, co-ordinate the authority's outside commitments and arrange a new events programme.
DANCE DATE: Youngsters who want to learn how to dance like their pop idols can take lessons starting in Crakehall this weekend. AJ and Donny will be teaching moves used by bands such as N Sync and S Club 7 between 5pm and 6pm at the village hall every Friday. For details, call (01748) 830508.
