A BIG six from master blaster Ivan Moxon has seen Stanley Towneley Arms through to the quarter-finals of the Stanley Aged Miners up.

The Towneley stalwart was in devastating form in the derby showdown with Craghead and hit all but one of the goals in a crushing 7-0 success that saw Glenn Ferry notch the other goal.

The semi-finalists of the Jack Grigg Memorial Cup are now known with both games to be played under the floodlights of Consett's Belle Vue Park.

The 4-2 win for Blackhill Comrades at Bute Arms will now see them tackle Blackhill Comrades on 25 March while on 20 March, Stateside will come up against Blackhall Mill after a penalty shootout win over Leadgate Golden Lion.

Paul Clark and Lee Innes both notched doubles for the Comrades with the Bute responding through Scott Embleton and David McCree.

The Golden Lion held a 1-0 interval lead over Stateside with a Mark Turner penalty with Paul Jobes equalising with 15 minutes to go. Extra-time failed to resolve the issue and in the shootout Chris Elliott's spot-kick was decisive as they edged it 4-3.

In Division One, Blackhall Mill beat Annfield Plain Cricket Club for the second week running.

And, Derek Waters was again on the scoresheet along with Lee Brown in the 2-0 win.

Chopwell have moved one point clear of Tantobie at the top of Division Two after a 5-2 win over Black Horse.

Lanchester will go joint top if they win their three games in hand which is more than likely if they continue the form that saw them thrash the Peacock 7-0.

Plainsman with two goals from Graham Fazakerley and another from Carl Gerry saw them beat Freemasons 3-0 to move back on top of Division Three.

A Stephen Boakes hat-trick saw the Stanley Board Inn to a 6-2 with at Medomsley Miners to move them within two points of the Plainsman.
