COUNCIL officials have reported success for a controversial recycling scheme.
Darlington Borough Council has introduced a system of kerbside recycling, which has been criticised by residents.
The council is now planning to purchase four specialised vehicles to support the collection system.
In a report, development and environment director John Buxton says: "The current recycling rate is 13 per cent and the aim is to raise this to a minimum of 18 per cent."
