THE Clock Cafe in Thirsk is to be the subject of a television makeover.
After meeting youngsters last week, BBC North Yorkshire announced it would be making the programme in May.
Over 60 people attended a public meeting in the town hall and open day at the cafe in Market Place.
There were several suggestions as to how the cafe should be decorated and what facilities there should be.
The premises will have a refreshment area on the ground floor, a youth zone on the first floor and administration offices and possibly a learning area on the second floor.
It will be used as a youth club, Internet cafe and facility for community groups.
The project is being partly funded by Thirsk Regeneration Initiative.
It is hoped the cafe will be open six days a week, from 9am to 10pm.
