A Darlington Guide celebrated her 90th birthday this week - but she has no intention of slowing down or taking it easy.
Elsie Bainbridge, who has lived in the Eastbourne area of Darlington all her life, is still an active member of the Darlington District Trefoil Guild, a branch of the Guides movement, which she has been involved in all her life.
She is also a keen member of Eastbourne Methodist Church, sits on the church council and is secretary of the Women's Fellowship.
She also attends an embroidery class at the Arts Centre every week and even helps with the design and technology club at Alderman Leach School, Cockerton.
Ms Bainbridge celebrated her birthday on Saturday by having an "open house" with relatives and friends popping in to visit her.
